Poetry:  the indicated emphases should be read several times, but understanding of content will be enhanced by reading all or most of the chapter.      

 

Even if it appears that we are behind, readings must be finished on the indicated or first day of discussion.  Not all readings may be discussed.

 

Rec. means recommended for extra credit.  Near the end of the semester, hand in a list of the extra readings you do or schedule a focused oral on them.
