E-mail: rainbowreefwarrior@yahoo.com Sayyed Mohsen Fatemi is presently a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in language and literacy education. He also holds a doctorate in psychology and is a published author, poet and translator. He has been teaching courses on language and communication, ESL, and writing and language for UBC; hermeneutics, psychology of mind, psychology of cognition, and psychoanalysis and mind for UBC Continuing Studies; and psychology of mass media, communication and problem solving, communication and interpersonal relations, English poetry, and communication and television for Athabasca University. He recently lectured at Penn State University, presenting a new perspective on learning through a critique on paradigms of thinking and language.

Her previous column, "Fukuda's Chalkboard," can be found in the January-August 2002 editions of this journal, as well as various other writings in the 2001 edition.
Ken Haley, Ph.D. currently teaches English and Literature at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas. He taught for 12 years at Prairie View A&M University and resigned as an associate professor to move to a more rural region of East Texas, where he now resides on a farm. In addition to teaching, he has an interest in writing poetry, with poems recently appearing in Pivot, The Lyric, RE:AL, Candelabrum, Penny Dreadful, and others.

He is a former middle school teacher, and his interest is multicultural education. As a student of the Lyndhurst Program (a non-traditional teacher licensure program) he received his M. Ed. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an Ed. S. from Lincoln Memorial University, Tennessee.

She has been active as a poet, photographer, and an "education junkie" for many years. She has been a McNair scholar for the past year and a half and recently won an award for her research.
