Thoughts and Questions for You, Our Readers

More On War

On this page, we hope to stir your thinking about issues and ideas as they intersect with the theoretical and the tangible: in short, to make education more practical and relevant for everyone. We invite responses to these topics (and many others) in the form of papers, essays, well-grounded opinion pieces, fiction, and poetry. All college and university students and instructors, K-12 teachers, and education administrators are encouraged to reply. Any topic (even those from past issues) may be used at any time. Please see our CFP at: http://asstudents.unco.edu/students/AE-Extra/Call.htm before submitting. Send submissions as Word attachments to the e-mail address below, and please include a brief bio that includes full contact information.

  • How has terrorism changed students? Changed education?
  • Are student perceptions of war the same as they were in the 1960s?
  • What happens when we "media-cize" a war? Are embedded reporters necessary? Do people want (or need) up-to-the-minute information?
  • When (if ever) should women be given the right to engage in ground combat?
  • Is an emerging "American Empire" a good or bad thing?

E-mail responses to Karen Heise, Editor-in-Chief, at: kheise2000@yahoo.com
    Please be sure the words
AEE SUBMISSION appear somewhere in the subject line.
