Contributors to March's AE-Extra

Dan Lukiv, M.Ed., teaches English and creative writing at McNaughton Centre. Quesnel, BC, Canada. He is a poet, novelist, short story and article writer, and an independent education researcher. His writing has appeared over fifteen hundred times in 16 countries. His formal apprenticeship as a writer includes intensive personal direction from masters such as Canada's Professor Robert Harlow, the USA's Paul Bagdon, and England's D. M. Thomas. He edits a literary journal, CHALLENGER international, which focuses attention on young, up-and-coming Canadian poets. He also edits The Journal of Secondary Alternate Education. Linda M. Mckay, Ph.D., is a professor in the Faculty of Education, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She teaches courses in organizational behavior and research methods. Current research interests include learning in organizations, higher education administration, school effectiveness, effectiveness of school councils, and student motivation and self-esteem.

Glenn W. Rideout is a Ph. D. candidate and Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Education, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where he teaches in the area of school organization and management. He is currently conducting research concerning the predictive value of various models, including philosophical orientations, in relation to pre-service teachers' classroom management ideologies. Other areas of interest include school effectiveness, educational policy, and leadership issues. His recently co-published article, "Education Versus Schooling: Seeking New Paradigms for a New Century," provides a further theoretical foundation for the article presented herein. Seema Mukhi is a M.A. candidate at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, in Teaching of Writing Specialization, and an M.F.A. candidate at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, in Creative Writing.
