Contributors to October AE-Extra

Lynne Fukuda, an instructor of Psychology at Leeward Community College. Fukuda has worked previously as an instructor of Anthropology at Windward Community College, a part-time instructor of Biology at Hawaii Pacific University, and an instructor at Central Texas College, based in Hawaii at Schofield Barracks. She is a regular contributor to this journal in her monthly column, “The View from Here.” Her previous column, "Fukuda's Chalkboard," can be found in the January-August 2002 editions of this journal, as well as various other writings in the 2001 editions.
Joan E. Aitken, Ed.D., is professor of Communication Arts at Park University. Dr. Aitken’s writings emphasize communication education, assessment, and the Internet.
Kathleen M. T. Collins, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Dr. Collins has published on topics related to the instruction of post-secondary students, learning disabilities, and mixed research and she has presented her research at numerous international, national, and regional conferences. Her research topics primarily involve evaluation and curricular development for special populations, such as adolescents and adults with learning disabilities.
Qun G. Jiao, PhD, is a professor at Newman Library, Baruch College, The City University of New York. His research interest is in the academic-related anxiety and its effects on college students’ learning.
Anthony Onwuegbuzie, PhD, is professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling at Sam Houston State University. He teaches courses in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed research, and writes extensively on topics related to all three areas. Dr. Onwuegbuzie has secured more than 200 refereed journal articles and book chapters, and has made approximately 400 presentations and keynote addresses at regional, national, and international conferences and venues. He is editor of Educational Researcher and co-editor of Research in the Schools.
Vanessa Raney is a MS student in Environmental Management at the University of Maryland, University College and an AA student in Economics at Frederick Community College. She hopes to continue on to a Ph.D. program in Fall 2010.
Linda S. Watts, Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Washington, Bothell, is author of Rapture Untold: Gender, Mysticism, and the ‘Moment of Recognition’ in Writings by Gertrude Stein (1996), Gertrude Stein: A Study of the Short Fiction (1999), and Encyclopedia of American Folklore (2006).
